Building on the success of last year’s inaugural Letchworth Open (which, due to COVID restrictions, had to take place online) The 2022 Letchworth Open hosts over 300 art works, beautifully displayed within the Broadway Gallery space. We are delighted that this year, over 77% of the entrants are 1st time applicants, with media used including painting, ceramic sculpture, textile, design, photography and printing.
Bursary and Prize Winners
This year we were overwhelmed by the quality and exceptional talent of all the artists who participated in this our annual Open and received a staggering 380 submissions. We have carefully consulted with last years recipients to invite three artists to exhibit at the Broadway Gallery in February 2023. These artists are; Nigel Grimmer, Emma Phillips and Tabitha Wilson whose works show considerable strength and promise.
We are delighted to award a further four prizes for Painting, Drawing & Illustration, Photography and Applied Arts. These prizes will be given to; Jennifer Buttleman for Drawing & Illustration, Paul Robinson for Painting, Anta Mainule-Miligana for Photography and finally Ken Ager for Applied Arts.
