I have been involved in my own technology startup companies for over 40 years, starting my first one in my 20s, and I worked for over a decade with the University of Southampton on spinning out new companies. Hopefully I will be able to help to establish new and thriving businesses provide real and sustainable employment opportunities in Letchworth.
Whilst not a resident, my interest in Letchworth stems from my long term fascination with social history – in particular Victorian society - and Sir Ebenezer Howard's Garden City concept which, together with some of the Quaker initiatives, effectively signalled the end of Victorian social practices. I am also a passionate supporter of the arts, which I would also wish to see flourish in the town.
