It’s been billed as the biggest and the best Letchworth Festival yet, and if the launch weekend was anything to go by, that might just be right. The Festival kicked off on Saturday 28th May with two major events – the Love Letchworth Food and Drink Festival, and the opening of Tom Karen: Creations at the town’s micro museum.
Hilary Kemp, Chair of the Letchworth Festival, said, “It was fantastic to see the town buzzing with so many happy people over the weekend. The Food and Drink festival was amazing, not to mention delicious! As for Tom Karen Creations – it’s probably my favourite exhibition that I’ve seen at One Garden City – it’s amazing to see all of those wonderful designs that all came from right here in Letchworth. I can’t wait for the rest of the festival!”
The Festival runs throughout June, and the whole programme is available online, and in a printed brochure that you can pick up in shops, cafes and restaurants all over town.
Hilary continues, “As we head into the Platinum Jubilee weekend, there’s plenty of Festival activity for everyone! ‘Kick-flip the Common’ starts proceedings at Norton Common on Thursday 2nd June, 1-4pm. It includes a skate jam and DJ at the skate park, and lots of things for families to do. Bring a picnic!”
