Throughout 2021, the Letchworth Culture Committee, made up of a wide range of cultural groups and businesses within the town, has been working to create a culture strategy for Letchworth.
The vision is that by 2026, Letchworth will be a thriving arts, culture and heritage centre, attracting audiences from around the country and the world, providing opportunities for all to engage and achieving high levels of cultural participation for our residents.
Your help is needed to make that happen.
In order for Letchworth to thrive, the committee believes that culture – in its many forms – must continue to be nurtured, promoted and placed at the centre of the town’s offer.
The Culture Committee is keen to hear from anyone involved in Letchworth’s cultural scene on what should be prioritised in this new strategy.
Whether you’re an artist, practitioner or group member; or, if you participate somehow in the local cultural scene, they want to hear your views on the Letchworth cultural offer.
Engagement with creatives from across the town; regardless of your background or level of involvement, will be crucial in steering the cultural development of Letchworth Garden City for the coming years.
Stuart Sapsford, chair of the Letchworth Cultural Committee said: “We know that there are hundreds of people in Letchworth who are part of the lifeblood of our wonderful cultural offer. We want to harness that passion and creativity, and help the community to position Letchworth as the beating cultural heart of the region. This strategy is the first step in that process and we really hope that people can find the time to contribute and become part of Letchworth’s cultural history.”
