The Heritage Foundation has appointed Stuart Sapsford as the new Executive Director of Communities, Culture and Heritage as of January 2019.
The new role, which looks after many of the Foundation’s services across the town including Broadway Cinema and Theatre, Broadway Gallery, Standalone Farm, as well as the Garden City Collection and Garden Cities Institute, aims to develop the Foundation’s engagement with residents and visitors to Letchworth.
Stuart joins the Foundation from his previous role as the Director of Community Services at the YMCA, where he worked for the past six years. He has also previously worked for both Hertfordshire County Council and Youth Connexions, creating and delivering a wide variety of projects and services for young people.
Commenting on his appointment, Stuart said: “I’m thrilled to be joining the Heritage Foundation at this exciting time for the organisation. Letchworth is such a unique place, with a great history and heritage, as well as having some great challenges so I’m really looking forward to getting started and getting to work.
The Foundation’s Chief Executive Graham Fisher added: “We’re delighted that Stuart agreed to join us at the Heritage Foundation and I think that his previous experience will prove invaluable in helping us to achieve our goals moving forward.”
