An Olivier Award winning musical created live on stage from audience suggestions comes to the Broadway Theatre in Letchworth on 3 June.
Showstopper! The Improvised Musical comprises moving story-lines, amazing songs, full group harmonies and dance numbers, all uniquely improvised ensuring that no two performances are the same.
The Showstoppers have been working on the show since 2008, figuring out how to improvise the increasingly esoteric styles requested by the audience.
In autumn 2015, it became the first long form improvisation show to have a full run in the West End and shortly after this, became the first improvisation show to be nominated, and subsequently win, an Olivier Award.
Sue Scott Davison, Creative Programmer at the Broadway Theatre said: “The company have a wealth of experience, having performed in the Edinburgh Fringe Festival as well as a successful West End run, so we’re sure it’ll be a big hit with the audience.”
The Showstoppers have a huge catalogue of music ranging from Pink Floyd to Stephen Sondheim, all performed in a wide variety of settings which have included a school, ancient Egypt and a mattress shop. If the audience can name it, The Showstoppers will perform it.
The show starts at 19:30 and tickets are priced at £20 for Adults and £17 for Concessions. Recommended for ages 14+. For more information or to purchase tickets, visit www.broadway-letchworth.com
