Letchworth residents are being invited to nominate homes in the 2018 Letchworth Garden City Heritage Awards.
Organised by the Heritage Foundation, the awards recognise good quality design and building work where people have extended or altered their homes. There are three categories, with a best extension/alteration award for homes in both the Heritage and Modern Character areas, as well as for the best property frontage from any home.
Claire Pudney, Team Leader at the Foundation’s Heritage Advisory Centre said: “The Heritage Awards are our way of recognising the hard work of homeowners in the town to preserve Letchworth’s unique look and history. The last awards in 2016 were a huge success and we hope for the same calibre of entries this year.”
Entries for this year’s competition close on 4 June, with any works that have taken place in the last two years eligible to be nominated. Nominations can be made by anyone, even by people who have seen a home that impresses them.
A shortlist will be made and then a judging panel will pick the winner from each of the categories in July. These category winners then going into a public poll to determine the overall winner, announced at an awards ceremony in the autumn.
