We are pleased to have supported Street Dance Productions with a grant towards a programme of Street Dance classes.
Run in partnership with Howard Cottage Housing Association, classes are open to Letchworth residents aged between 7 and 17. They are free of charge – removing the cost barrier often associated with such activities. During the course students work on two dance routines working towards a performance at the Gordon Craig Theatre in Stevenage in November.
Street Dance Productions Director Eric John commented: “Once again we’re thankful for the grant from the Foundation. Being able to provide these classes free of charge means more children can come and I’m really chuffed to get more kids into dancing.”
He added: “It’s great to see the children develop and increase in confidence. We’ve got some talented kids this year and we’ve already spotted some who we are going to encourage to enter some national individual competitions.”
Our Head of Charitable Services Alastair Stewart said: “Street Dance productions’ summer classes are incredibly popular and we’re really pleased to support them once again. It would be great if we could find a way of keeping at least one class running across the whole year and we will be working with the team to explore other funding options.”
