Autumn Fair: Today, Thursday. Join the Inner Wheel Club of Letchworth Garden City for their autumn fair. With raffle, refreshments, Christmas decorations, Usborne Books, handmade products and gifts. NH50+ Group monthly Open Meeting: Today, Thursday. Give us your ideas for new topics for our future monthly Forum meetings. Pasadena Roof Orchestra Concert: Today, Thursday. The Pasadena Roof Orchestra was formed 50 years ago and is still going strong. Laced with a liberal dose of British humour in its presentation. Christmas Art and Craft Fair: Friday, November 22. Come along and buy some unique gifts, a great selection of high-quality crafts and goods. At The Settlement, 229 Nevells Road. From 6pm – 9pm. St George’s Church Christmas Market: Saturday, November 23. Lots of stalls including, new and good conditioned toys, fancy goods, cakes, books, DVD’s and raffle and tombola. Join us for light lunches including homemade soup. At St George’s Church, Common View. From 11am - 1.30pm. Admission 50p.

Christmas Lights Switch On: Saturday, November 23. Celebrate the start of the festive season in Letchworth town centre with the Christmas Lights switch on. Christmas Lights Switch On with Ghost Caribou: Saturday, November 23. Ghost Caribou are hauntingly beautiful illuminated creatures – part caribou, part spirit. This street act uses music, song and shadow puppetry to create awe-inspiring displays of magic and wonder. Along with their wild herdsperson, they tell stories of lost homes, impossible migrations and seeds of hope, before continuing their journey into their beautiful dreamworld. Henry Blofeld Book Signing: Saturday, November 23. Cricket broadcasting legend Henry Blofeld signs his book, ‘My A-Z of Cricket’. You can meet Henry Blofeld by purchasing a copy of ‘My A-Z of Cricket’. However please book in advance to guarantee your place in the signing queue. St Paul’s Christmas Market: Sunday, November 24. Join us for our Christmas Market, with great stalls with lots of gift ideas, 50p cafe and Santa’s Grotto – take a selfie with Santa. LALG Textile Group – Making cotton tote bags: Tuesday, November 26. Our friendly Letchworth Arts and Leisure Group meet up every month to create, make and experiment with a range of textile techniques and materials. At Digswell Arts, The Fenners Building, Openshaw Way. From 6pm – 8pm. Workshops £4 per person, includes refreshments and all materials. Letchworth Jazz Appreciation Society: Thursday, November 28.  A warm welcome to Bill Hopping who will be presenting a programme of music under the intriguing title ‘Little Black Sticks’. Puzzled?  It’s instrumental in nature – an enticement to come along and hear some terrific music.  Plus a full supporting programme, as always at 7.30pm.  In the Conservative Club, 1 Birds Hill.  Doors open 7pm. Photo Letchworth: On until Sunday, December 1, Last chance to catch the photography competition and exhibition at the Broadway Gallery, showcasing the photographic talents from residents of Letchworth and the surrounding area. The finalists work is installed in the main gallery as a supporting exhibition to Cornelia Parker: One Day This Glass Will Break. The winner of the £500 prize will be chosen by the gallery’s visitors in a public ballot, visit the gallery to cast your vote. At Broadway Studio and Gallery, 2 The Arcade. The Broadway Plinth – Benjamin Cohen: The Weight of the Tongue: On until Sunday, December 1. Southbank Centre’s Hayward Gallery Touring presents One Day This Glass Will Break, an exhibition of twenty large-scale photogravures by Cornelia Parker from three experimental series. Sofia Albina Novikoff Unger: A Slow Longing Collapse: On until Sunday, December 1. Broadway Gallery is pleased to present A Slow Longing Collapse, a solo exhibition by the artist Sofia Albina Novikoff Unger. This exhibition centres around a video installation, which presents the first episode of a planned trilogy that explores the hybridisation of nature and artifice on a global scale.
