Circus Skills: Today, Thursday and Friday, August 3. Ever thought about running away with the circus? Find out if you have what it takes with these circus skills sessions kickstarting the summer schedule! Learn how to juggle, walk on stilts and clown around at drop in sessions throughout the day, a great way to tire out the kids! At Standalone Farm, Wilbury Road. Women in Letchworth Garden City: Today, Thursday, Friday, August 3 and Saturday, August 4. A special exhibition celebrating over a hundred years of women’s lives in the world’s first Garden City, featuring unique and historic objects and old photos from the Garden City Collection. At the Community Museum, 12-14 The Arcade. Admission free. Open every Thursday, Friday and Saturday from 10am to 4pm until Saturday, September 22.
Kids Club at Broadway Cinema: Saturday, August 4 and Sunday 5. The ever-popular £1 Kids Club screenings are every Saturday and Sunday during the school holidays, plus extra dates during the week. Sherlock Gnomes, Isle of Dogs, Jumanji, The Land Before Time and Flushed Away all coming up. There is now allocated seating for Kids Club, it is recommended to book in advance! Summer Fair: Saturday, August 4. Homemade cakes, marmalade, cards, bric-a-brac, clothes, toys and books. Refreshments available. At Letchworth Free Church Hall, Norton Way South. From 10am to 11.30am. Free entrance and parking. All welcome.
Embroiderer’s Guild National Celebration of Stitch: Saturday, August 4. Discover the fascinating world of textile art and creative stitchery, with exhibits and demonstrations both traditional and modern. At Letchworth Library, Broadway. From 10am – 2pm. Suitable for all ages and skill levels.
Just Coffee: Saturday, August 4. Pop along to this coffee morning and enjoy a free tea, coffee and biscuits whilst listening to a musician play the piano. Each month there is a different themed subject. At St Paul’s Church, Pixmore Way. From 10.30am – 12pm.
Howard Social Centre: Sunday, August 5. Mini Jumble, Bric-a-Brac and Nearly New Sale. At Howard Social Centre, Norton Way South. Refreshments (tea, coffee and snacks) served from 11am-3pm. CJS Falconry Display: Monday, August 6 to Friday, August 10. Watch these majestic creatures swoop and soar as the fantastic CJS Falconry team come to Standalone Farm. With audience interaction and the chance to get up close and personal, these displays offer the chance to see these birds at their best, in the sky! Great & Small – Animals in Craft: Wednesday, August 8 until Sunday October 14. An exhibition for all the family selected from the Crafts Council Collection. Animals have been represented in craft for as long as humans have been making, shaping and creating decorative objects. This exhibition encourages children to explore our age-old fascination with all creatures great and small. At Broadway Studio and Gallery, 2 The Arcade. Struggling in the Summer Holidays?: Wednesday, August 8. Stevenage FC Foundation Soccer School: On now until Thursday, August 30. An opportunity for boys and girls aged 5 – 14 years to learn the game’s key skills through fun games and activities, provided by the Foundation’s FA Qualified and DBS checked football coaches.
