The grants committee met for the last time in 2021 in mid-December. During the meeting, we reflected on the year, and refined our 2022 Grant Programme with more knowledge and insight from 2021 into the challenges that community-based groups may face.
In the last year we welcomed Pat Baskerville, Judith Nash and Gareth Hawkins onto the grants commitee, and have now sadly said goodbye to Pam Burn.
We awarded grants to the following groups:
- Grange Community Centre, to towards the refurbishment of the kitchen which in turn will support the growth of the community cafe and the use this valuable community space.
- Rotary Club of Letchworth Howard were granted £200 as a contribution for children from Letchworth families to go to a local pantomime. The group is organised, supervised by Home-Start Herts and consists of 23 children and 8 adults.
- And lastly, we awarded Angels Support Group £6,008 to help families understand and support children in their household who are on the journey to being diagnosed with ASC/ADHD. The group provides bespoke short courses for families and weekly networking for families in community settings across the town.
We are continuing the Communities Looking Forward grants programme in 2022. The next grant application deadline is Friday 25 February 2022.
