Citizen’s Advice North Hertfordshire branch has received a grant of £100K from the Foundation to pioneer a money advice programme tailored to the needs of individuals and families in Letchworth.
This new woodland is part of the Foundation’s environmental strategy to create habitat for wildlife and making the best use of a landlocked area to boost biodiversity and the environment. Planting took place in recent weeks by local environment contractor, Maydencroft.
It's five years since Letchworth's Broadway Gallery opened its doors to the public with an exhibition by internationally-acclaimed artist Richard Smith. Broadway Gallery’s current curator, Kristian Day, said: “Since 2016 the gallery has put on an incredible 45 exhibitions. We’re very proud that 24 of these exhibitions have been by Letchworth-based artists, and is testament to the creative talent in our local art scene.”
The Foundation has submitted an outline planning application for 120 homes east of Talbot Way. The site is allocated for approximately 120 private and affordable homes as part of the North Hertfordshire Local Plan 2011-31 being led by North Hertfordshire District Council (NHDC).
Letchworth Garden City Heritage Foundation, with the help of business support social enterprise, Wenta, has signed up to the Government’s Kickstart Scheme which has been set up to help the young and unemployed, aged between 16-24 and claiming Universal Credit, find employment.
Our new Communities Looking Forward Grant will run throughout 2021 offering grants of up to £10,000 to sustain health, wellbeing and community action across Letchworth. Local charities, clubs and community groups impacted by the pandemic can now get the support they need with the launch of our new recovery fund.

After several delays due to the pandemic, Broadway Gallery has launched the Letchworth Open exhibition on 9 January 2021. The recent COVID-19 restrictions mean the gallery cannot yet welcome visitors, but the exhibition has been brought to life online.
